The NHAA, Inc. Student Emergency Fund (SEF) is designed to support current students who have an outstanding account balance that prevents registration or graduation.  NHAA, Inc. may award up to $5,000; the award amount may vary.

Eligibility Criteria:
  1. Are you currently enrolled at Hampton University?
  2. Do you have a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or better?
  3. Do you have an outstanding account balance? SEF award is posted directly to your account to help cover your outstanding balance.
  4. Is this your first time receiving SEF? You can only receive SEF once; previous recipients are not eligible.
  5. Have you completed a semester at Hampton University? 
If you can answer “YES” to each question above, then you may be eligible for SEF. Hampton University verifies each criteria for applicants before NHAA, Inc. considers whether to award SEF.

As a first-semester student, you are not eligible for Student Emergency Funds. Please come back and apply after you complete a semester, if you still have a financial need.

You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.3 to be eligible. Please come back and apply after you have improved your GPA, if you still have a financial need. In the meanwhile, continue working with the HU Financial Aid Office and the Student Success Center.

The Student Emergency Fund is for those HU students who have a current outstanding account balance. If your situation changes, please reapply.

The Student Emergency Fund is for those students who have exhausted all other options for clearing their balance. Feel free to reapply, if needed, after you have worked with the HU Financial Aid Office.
