Most frequent questions and answers
According to the NHAA, Inc. Bylaws, Article II – Membership, if you received degrees, diplomas, or certificates from Hampton University or its predecessors, or if you have attended the university for at least one semester (including a summer session) and left in good standing, and have participated in alumni giving at least once in the past five (5) years, you are considered an eligible voter for NHAA, Inc.

Regular members (defined in Section 1 above) who have participated in alumni giving within the past five (5) years will have voting rights. Alumni giving includes:
- Dues payments to active NHAA, Inc., chapters/regions that donate to Hampton.
- Direct donations to active NHAA, Inc. chapters/regions that benefit Hampton students and/or Hampton.
- Contributions to NHAA, Inc., fundraisers supporting Hampton.

The NHAA, Inc., will maintain accurate records of all donations.
Members with a class year designation of 1964 and Subsequent years will receive election notifications via email from the election vendor (YesElections). These emails will include instructions for voting online.
Class of 1963 and Prior:
- Eligible voters will receive a Physical Voter Notification via mail.
- Voters have the option to cast their vote using the included paper ballot or via email if a valid address is on file.
Class of 1964 and Subsequent Years (1964–2025):
Eligible voters will receive an Electronic Ballot sent directly to the email address on file.
Yes, you can still vote online using your unique credentials provided within the notification. The notice from YesElections will provide clear instructions.

Unless your class designation is Class of 1964 and Subsequent Years (1964–2025), instructions and your unique credentials for accessing the online voting platform will be included in the email that will be sent from YesElections. You will need the information provided to you to log in and cast your vote.
Yes, the online voting platform ensures the anonymity of your vote. Your identity and voting choices will remain confidential.

The election results will be announced in May via email as well as the official social media channels. All members will be notified of the outcome.
